Hey BmulNarf, i've finished my AS AQA biology course and it was a lot harder than i thought it would be I have to say! I'm sure a lot of your teachers will already be telling you, you have to keep on top of your work right from the beginning and learn as you go along. That really is the best advice, with the January modules approaching so quickly you'll only have the best chance of doing well if you start working right from the very start. Though I know it's easier to say that than do, it's a big adjustment from GCSE level Biology to AS level biology but if you learn material as you go along and do your best to understand it, it'll be very enjoyable for you. At the moment i'm sure you'll just want to have a good break after your GCSE's but i'd recommend maybe getting an AS biology book out from the library and having a look through it, you don't need to start learning but it'll just give you a good idea of the things you'll be learning and the depth in which you'll be learning them. There's also a CGP book available which my friend thought was very useful, I've never used it but it's specifically for learning in the summer before starting your AS course after having done your GCSE's. Here's a link for it http://www.whsmith.co.uk/CatalogAndSearch/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=9781847621177
I hope this all helps :)
